What can AFAST®, TFAST® and Vet BLUE® do for you?

FAST is an acronym for the abbreviated ultrasound examination called Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma created as a triage and post-interventional screening test by human trauma surgeons in the 1990s.

AFAST (abdominal FAST), TFAST (thoracic FAST), Vet BLUE (lung) and when combined as a single format refereed to as Global FAST have been developed by FASTVet for veterinarians as rapid, point-of-care screening tests, that within minutes answer important clinical questions to help better direct both care (keeping alive for gold standard testing) and diagnostics (picking your next best test better) in small animals.

These 3 techniques require no shaving of dogs and cats, minimal restraint, are safe with no radiation, and serve as screening tests for  not only trauma, triage and tracking (monitoring) but should be considered an extension of your physical exam for any abnormal or suspect small animal as a first line test – or an extension of your physical exam.  Global FAST is a better soft tissue and free fluid scan than radiographs.

Our 8-hour RACE-approved, Hands-on Training at our FASTVet Academy in beautiful San Antonio consists of case-based AFAST, TFAST and Vet BLUE lectures and AFAST, TFAST and Vet BLUE proctored scanning by FASTVet-certifed Instructors.

We encourage you to join us!  These are truly practice-changers! You will quickly become a believer using these 3 techniques as “extensions of your physical exam” on a daily basis.  By capturing diseases, conditions, and injuries with the use of Global FAST that you would have traditionally missed or been delayed in detection by not using Global FAST, patient care for dogs and cats of your valuable clients is improved.  Global FAST Saves Lives!
